*** Update *** Everyone who has registered for this meeting will receive an email the day of the meeting with the Zoom link. This is in addition to having the link in the already sent meeting invite. We are still requesting that you send comments and questions in advance so that they can be provided to the Stage 2 - LRT team.
An online meeting to discuss the Richmond Road detour on to Byron Avenue is now scheduled for Thursday August 15 at 7 pm. During the meeting City of Ottawa LRT Stage 2 staff will describe the improvements they have made to the area since the detour was opened on July 20 and present some workable solutions to remaining impacts to our neighbourhood. Councillor Kavanagh will also attend this meeting. To receive the Zoom link for the meeting please send us an email to events@Woodpark.ca.
In advance of the meeting, we would like to hear from Woodpark residents about their experiences with this detour and impacts on the surrounding streets.
Are some streets continuing to experience an increase in cut through traffic?
Do pedestrians feel safe crossing the intersection at Woodroffe and Richmond/Bryon?
Are there additional traffic calming measures that should be implemented (i.e. one-way streets, more three/four way stops at intersections, real time speed signs, etc.)?
Please share your thoughts and suggestions by sending an email to woodpark@woodpark.ca or providing a comment in the comments space below. Please identify yourself when you provide your comments and be clear about what streets your concerns relate to.
Comments and concerns will be shared with the City of Ottawa LRT Stage 2 staff in advance of the Thursday August 15 meeting.
We will be living with the detours in the area for the next two to three years as the work to make Richmond Road a complete street continues and the Bryon Linear Park is restored, so it is important that we get the interim detours as safe as possible.
We look forward to receiving your comments and suggestions and hope to see you at the August 15th meeting.
