Volunteer Week

Hello Woodparkers,

Thank you to the many of you for expressing interest in being a volunteer in your membership signup form. We appreciate you volunteering the time and effort in making Woodpark a better place for all residents.

The Woodpark Community Association plays a crucial role in shaping our neighborhood. We advocate for appropriate developments, foster a strong sense of community, and ensure that Woodpark remains a wonderful place to live.

We Need Your Expertise!

Currently, there are several exciting opportunities to get more involved:

  1. Board of Directors: We currently have vacant positions on the Board of Directors. If you’re 18 years or older and interested in contributing at a leadership level, please let us know; send an email to woodpark@woodpark.ca. Existing and new members will be confirmed at our Annual Meeting (AM) on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 pm.

  2. Website Assistant: We’re seeking volunteers to enhance and maintain the Woodpark website (Woodpark.ca) and email communications. If you have skills with WIX, MailChimp, WordPress, or similar tools, your expertise would be invaluable.

  3. Sustainability Committee: Join us in promoting a sustainable community. Help us reduce our environmental footprint, address climate change, and restore natural environments. We’re looking for a Chairperson and new committee members.

  4. Infrastructure and Development Committee: If you’re passionate about infrastructure and development issues, consider participating in this committee. Your insights can shape Woodpark’s future.

  5. Events Committee - Our Events and Outreach committee hosts various community events throughout the year. We are looking for Committee members as well as volunteers for individual events. From park cleanups to holiday projects, your assistance is vital. High school students can also earn volunteer hours by participating.

How to Express Interest

If any of these opportunities resonate with you, please send an email to woodpark@woodpark.ca. Introduce yourself, share where you live in the community, and specify the position(s) you’re interested in.

For more details, visit our website at Woodpark.ca. There you will be able to review the terms of reference for our four committees.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Warm regards,

Woodpark Community Association
