Woodpark: Growing Forward

Join your Woodpark neighbours for a conversation about the challenges, opportunities and issues affecting our community. Let’s share ideas and brainstorm how we want to shape our neighbourhood into the future.

Why participate?

Woodpark is in the midst of major change. Now is the time for us to come together and choose how we want to grow into the future. For example, here are just a few issues:

  • We live in a neighbourhood that has recently been rated as one of the best places to live in the city by Ottawa magazine.

  • Stage 2 Light Rail is bringing many changes to our community. For now, we are feeling the impacts of construction, tree—cutting, loss of green space, traffic and inconvenience.

  • Community members are experiencing the economic, emotional and social impacts of the pandemic. Neighbours have pulled together, supporting each other through difficult times.

  • There are major plans for new residential projects in the neighbourhood; for example, the building at Richmond & Woodroffe is well underway and soon the corner of Woodroffe & Carling will have two new towers built.

  • The community garden is thriving (despite COVID) and many more residents than before are growing vegetables and gardening.

  • We have a young community, and very little green space. People are eager for places to come together and enjoy the community.

How to get involved:
